Her interest in arts was sparked at an early time when she took dance classes at Washington School of Ballet, Washington D.C. Following high school, Krause enrolled at an acting school called the Carnegie Mellon Drama School. Krause began to start her professional acting. Her Equity certificate was obtained by her participation in Aida, a musical production. Louisa Krause began her career performing in theatre. She was in the Huntington Theater Company's production of Iphigenia 2 in the year 2006. She played Iphigenia for the Signature Theatre Company's Iphigenia 2 in 2007.
